Lost Or Broken Motorcycle Keys
Every key gone or snapped in the barrel, we cut and code a new one at the bike, 24 hours a day.
Tell us the bike and what’s happened, lost, snapped or stuck.
A bike with no key doesn’t move. You can’t push it past a steering lock the way you might roll a car out of a tight spot, and you can’t quietly leave it somewhere while you sort things out, not in a car park in Werribee or on the side of the Princes Freeway.
Ostan Locksmiths originates a new key from nothing: no original to copy, no spare, no dealer record required. We cut a fresh blade from the ignition barrel at the bike, prove you own it, and code the immobiliser where one’s fitted, all in the one visit.
All of it done at the bike, any hour of the day or night:
We come to it and originate a key there and then. Call with the make, model and rego, and we’ll get you moving.
Lost, snapped in the barrel or locked out, tell us the make, model and rego. Have your registration papers and photo ID ready, we'll need to confirm the bike is yours.
No trailer, no towing. We drive to the roadside, the car park or the driveway, anywhere across Werribee and Wyndham, and start work the moment we arrive, day or night.
With no original left, we decode the ignition barrel, seat lock or fuel cap, cut a fresh blade and program the immobiliser if the bike carries one, same visit, same trip.
We test the key on ignition, steering lock, seat and fuel cap, then watch you ride or drive off. No trailer needed at either end of the job.
Mobile service across Werribee and the Wyndham suburbs, 24 hours a day
Stranded Right Now?
Leave the bike exactly where it is and don’t force the lock. Call us and we’ll come to you, any hour, anywhere across Werribee, Tarneit or Point Cook.
Bike keys snap more often than car keys. The blades are slimmer, the barrels tighter, and riders lean on the key with more force than they realise once a lock is already stiff.
If a blade has broken off in the ignition, leave it alone. Pliers and paperclips push the fragment deeper and chew the wafers, which turns a straightforward extraction into a full barrel rebuild. Ostan Locksmiths removes the broken section along the keyway with the right tools, checks whether the barrel survived, and cuts and codes a replacement key on the spot.
If the barrel itself is worn out rather than just holding a broken blade, see motorcycle ignition repair.
Snapped Blade In The Barrel?
Pliers and paperclips make it worse. We remove the fragment properly, check the barrel, and cut and code a fresh key on the spot.
Steering locks, seat locks and disc locks all turn into a real problem once the key’s gone. The seat lock matters most, because on plenty of bikes the battery and toolkit live under there, and some models route part of the ignition wiring through the same space.
We open seat locks, fuel caps and steering locks without cutting or drilling wherever the design allows it, then cut and code you a working key on the spot, so the same situation doesn’t happen twice.

We come to cars, utes, vans and motorcycles across Werribee, the Wyndham suburbs and Melbourne’s inner west, including:
Call us with the make, model and year. We come to the bike, decode the ignition barrel, cut a new key and program the immobiliser if it’s fitted. There’s no need to transport the bike anywhere, we bring everything to it.
Yes, and please don’t try first with pliers or a paperclip. Forcing the fragment deeper damages the wafers and can turn a simple extraction into a full barrel replacement, which costs a lot more than leaving it to us.
On most bikes, yes, without cutting or drilling anything. That matters because the battery and toolkit usually live under the seat, and on some models part of the ignition wiring runs through there too, so getting in matters as much as the key itself.
Most jobs are finished inside an hour at the bike. Ones with an immobiliser and no working key left take a bit longer, because the system has to be brought back to a state where it’ll accept a brand new key.
Papers and photo ID matching the name on the registration are the easiest path. If you don’t have them handy, call anyway and we’ll talk through what else can establish the bike’s yours before we cut anything, most riders have something that works.
Usually the locksmith route, and it avoids the cost and delay of trailering a bike that can’t be ridden anywhere in the meantime. We quote before we start, so you know the number either way, before any work ever begins.
In almost every case, yes. We bring the cutting and coding gear to wherever the bike is, roadside, driveway or car park, so the only thing that needs to move afterwards is the bike, under its own power.
